Lewiston Business Group - Meeting Recap

The Lewiston Business Group, a committee of the Chamber, met on Tuesday, November 22 at the Village Hall.

The meeting was led by Village Bake Shoppe owner and Chamber Board Member Michael Fiore.  Discussion took place regarding the 2022 Trick or Treat on Center Street event, and the Village's concern Center Street safety at that event. The past few years have given the community beautiful weather which has increased the attendance each year.  The businesses hand out candy to children and see the event as a "giving back to the community" event.

The Village of Lewiston will gather more information regarding closing the street in 2023 for the event.  The LBG will take the next two months to regroup on this discussion and will make a decision at the January meeting.

The next events coming up are Small Business Saturday on November 26th and The Lewiston Christmas Walk.  They are big weekends for many of the Lewiston retailers and restaurants.  The past year, consumers spending has shifted so the two back to back weekends bring much needed anticipated sales.  The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce is thankful to the businesses who have supported both events with their sponsorships.

Plans for a March Sip and Shop event will be nailed down in the next few weeks including a date, time and participation details.

The next Lewiston Business Group meeting is Tuesday, December 20th at 9am at Lewiston Village Hall.  For details, contact the Chamber office at 716-754-9500.
